You know that popular K-Drama storyline where the dashing and athletically-gifted male lead also turns out to be a prince? This one is a definite real-life version of that story. Prince Abdul Mateen Bolkiah, who plays for Brunei’s Polo team, is the fourth son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

The 28-year old prince has been a member of his country’s Polo team for several years. Before competing in this year’s SEA Games, he was part of the team that competed in the 2017 edition. Aside from polo, he does other sports like skydiving. boxing, and badminton.

Outside of his athletic exploits, Prince Abdul is also very active. He is a registered pilot and soldier. The prince also dubs himself as the “father of tigers,” owing to his fascination with them and animals in general. He even owns some of these animals as pets.

With his attributes, it isn’t a surprise that the prince is popular online. He currently has 1.2 million followers on Instagram and dedicated fan pages from different countries. Filipinos also went crazy over him after Brunei’s first match against the Philippines. Some fans even asked for photos, which he gamely obliged.

While we don’t have any athletes of royal blood, the Philippine delegation is not far behind when it comes to princely looks. Swimmer and water polo team member Vincent Sicat is a great example of that.

The 21-year-old is a rookie in the Philippine team but is already contributing to its success in the international circuit. He played an important role in the country’s campaign at the FINA Water Polo Challenge held in Singapore last October. He is also showing great promise in the SEA Games, helping the team secure their first win against Thailand last Nov. 28.

SEA Games hotties no. 4  LR Lancero (ice hockey):

Ice hockey might be a foreign sport to many Filipinos, but our national team is not lagging in the international circuit. The team is the first-ever champion of the event in the SEA Games and is currently seeking to maintain its streak in the 2019 edition. One of the main players it will lean on for its bid is forward Lenard Rigel “LR” Lancero.

The 23-year old hockey player began his foray into the sport at an early age. He notes in an interview with The Philippine Star that he started ice skating at the age of three. It was a natural transition from there, as he always wanted to try out less mainstream sports.

Aside from ice hockey, Lucero does a variety of other athletic activities like running, biking, and racing. He says all of these help him maintain his body for training. And it shows. When you check out his Instagram page, you will see just how well-toned he is. That cute face is also a great bonus.
