Pinoy-YouTube-Content-Creators

With online videos becoming a popular pastime for Filipinos during the quarantine period, many aspiring content creators have sprung up to capture online audiences. But who of these Pinoy YouTube content creators should you marathon during these days? Here are our top recommendations.

Pinoy YouTube content creator no. 1: Judy Ann Santos

Judy Ann Santos may be more well-known as one of the country’s premiere dramatic actresses but she also has a growing following as an online chef. Her Judy Ann’s Kitchen YouTube channel now has over 1.2 million subscribers. Its most-watched video above has since garnered 7 million views.

The actress’s love for cooking has been well-known long before she launched her YouTube channel. She was the host for the Philippine edition of the MasterChef franchise. Santos also released her cookbook of the same title several years before the channel debuted.

What makes Judy Ann’s videos a delight to watch. Is how natural the presentations feel. She often makes small blunders while shooting the videos but gladly incorporates these in. Her bubbly personality also shines through, making for a fun watch even for non-fans. Judy Ann’s kids also sometimes join the episode, adding some family touch. The episode schedule on her channel is a bit erratic, however, so you will have to wait patiently for new ones.

Pinoy YouTube content creator no. 2: CongTV

CongTV, or Lincoln Velasquez in real life, has been putting out YouTube videos since 2014. However, it’s only in the last two years that his online career has taken off with the Pinoy content creation boom. His channel currently has 5.63 million subscribers and a total of 254 million views.

He and his circle of friends, collectively dubbed as Team Payaman, focus mainly on humorous skits. These range from domestic comedy featuring him and his girlfriend Viy Cortez (also a popular vlogger) to funny relationship advice and music videos. All of these make for content that many Filipinos can easily relate to, adding to their charm. The sharp editing and surprisingly good production values also make their videos a delight to the eyes.

Cong and his crew regularly collaborate with other Pinoy content creators, producing fun content like the above video. The team has also recently entered into the popular game streaming niche through its collaboration with talent management agency Tier One Entertainment. According to the team’s video editor Josh Pint, all of these help in keeping their game up amidst the influx of new Pinoy YouTube content creators.

As mentioned earlier, game streaming has been a popular niche for Pinoy YouTube content creators. He starts off narrating each video with a voice fit for a DJ, then switches into insane fast-talking the moment the action heats up. Gloco also banters a lot with his streamer friends on cam, adding to the hilarity. That bantering is even the main allure of his other channel Peenoise Plays, which focuses on multiplayer games.

Unlike other streamers’ focus on popular titles, Gloco features more indie titles in his videos. He notes in an interview with Mineski.net that he has a soft spot for these games. He also said that international streamer PewDiePie has been an inspiration throughout his career. To those who aspire to follow in his footsteps, Gloco urged that they just keep uploading their content everywhere for more exposure.
