Despite the challenges brought about by the network’s closure and COVID-19 pandemic, ABS-CBN remains hopeful with its Christmas station ID, “Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya”.
After teasing the public with the lyric video last November 27, the largest broadcasting network in the country finally came out with the official music video of the anticipated year-end song.
“Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya” features the voices of Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga, Bamboo, Vice Ganda, Moira Dela Torre, Toni Gonzaga, Morisette Amon, Ella Nympha, Angeline Quinto, Erik Santos, Jona, Martin Nievera, KZ Tandingan, and Gary Valenciano.
This year has been challenging for the network and thousands of its employees. After it has been declined the franchise renewal to remain its operations, ABS-CBN was left with no choice but to retrench most of its workers.
Still, the Christmas station ID reminds everyone during these difficult times that through prayers, nothing is impossible. Moreover, the lyrics “Liwanag” and “Ligaya” were also translated into different languages such as Korean, Waray, Kapampangan, Arabic, among others.
